Does "The Scarecrow" Scare You?

Chipotle Mexican Grill's mission is "food with integrity." And as far as fast food chains go, this one is full of choices for vegetarians, vegans, and even conscious carnivores. A recent video created by the company sends a powerful message speaking out against factory farming, the large-scale, hormone-injected, crowded way of raising animals that is the reason many people decide to go veg. In the video, all food is made in a depressing factory until a forward-thinking scarecrow creates an alternative (surprise, surprise, it looks like he's serving tacos and burritos!).

Here's the video:

Bonus: It features a beautifully haunting rendition of the song "Pure Imagination" from Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory  by Fiona Apple.

Chipotle says that they source from farmers and ranchers who raise animals in a humane way. The chickens they use aren't given antibiotics, or additional additives in their feed, and the majority of dairy comes from cows that were pasture-raised, not given hormones, and fed an all-vegetarian diet.

If only more fast food establishments had a brain!

What do you think? Are you happy to see chain restaurants making a move toward more ethical meat choices? Or would you prefer to see them go 100% vegetarian?
